When Wander says a rooftop bar is a view tax, or that the original tart is worth the queue, that judgement has to be right more often than not. You own the taste and the honesty that make a plan worth following.
This is an editorial role with a product output. You shape how Wander writes, build the guardrails against generic top-ten filler, and review what the model produces across real destinations.
What you would own
- Set the voice and the standard for honest notes: specific, human, never an ad.
- Review generated itineraries across destinations and file what rings false, specifically.
- Build the guardrails that keep plans from turning into a generic list.
- Keep worth-it and skip meaningful. A note nobody trusts is worse than no note.
What we are looking for
- Four or more years in travel writing, guidebook editing or destination content.
- You have strong, defensible taste and can say why something is a trap.
- You write tightly for a reader who is about to be somewhere new.
- You are comfortable being the person who says the plan is wrong about this.
How hiring runs
A thirty-minute call with a founder, then a paid work session on a real problem from our backlog (three to four hours), then two conversations with people you would work alongside. Four steps, usually inside two weeks. We tell you where you stand at every one, and we reply either way.
